My name is Robert Abbett, also known as "Rabbett". I'm the owner/operator of Hot Spots Hawai`i, a small creative services company based in Kailua on the island of O'ahu.

Here's a picture of my friend (and steel guitarist), Alan Akaka and yours truly inside my production nook.
The day this was taken, we were recording an interview for Internet Radio Hawai`i (irh.com).

O'ahu is the most populous of the Hawaiian Islands and where our city and state governments are located. Honolulu is our capitol and main city. Honolulu is also the name of our county, which includes both the Island of O`ahu and a whole bunch of ocean surrounding us. Kailua is a little windward town over the mountains and across the island from Honolulu.

I have prepared a Quicktime VR Virtual visit to some very special places around O'ahu.

You'll notice right away that I like my VR's to be wide. Just like in nature, our eye's view is alot wider than that which a typical tv screen shows. When I discovered that you could make VR's practically any size, I was delighted. I'm a Panavision kinda guy!

Although anyone can shoot VR's, I believe the really successful users of this technology will be those who can see views and imagery in a circular perspective. Be careful planning your shoots. Study all the angles. Make sure you understand the entire view, all 360 degrees before you shoot it, otherwise phone poles, cars and buildings may pop up in rude and unpleasant manners.

Whatever you do...have fun. Don't expect to become an overnight whiz and a millionaire. Use Quicktime VR to help tell a story, share a view, inspire dreams. Success, if it is meant to happen, will surely follow.
